Anime badasses like Madara Uchiha and King Yhwach have proven themselves much cooler than Solo Leveling's Jinwoo.

If this pattern persists with the next season, fans can likely expect Solo Leveling Season 3 to release internationally on Crunchyroll on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026. It’s also possible the anime could get a preview film debut in a similar manner as Season 2 did with the Solo Leveling: ReAwakening movie in December 2024. That being the case, Solo Leveling fans can likely look forward to continuing Jinwoo’s journey in either late 2025 or early 2026.
Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 12 Was The Climactic Battle Between Sung Jinwoo and The Ant King
Solo Leveling Episode 24 Adapted Manhwa Chapters 100–104
Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 12, “Are You The King of Humans”, was the moment fans had waited for throughout the course of two seasons of the anime. Having used his famous Shadow Exchange ability to switch places with one of his soldiers, Sung Jinwoo arrived on the battlefield in the Ant Queen’s lair on Jeju Island. In a matter of an instant, the South Korean S-Ranks’ situation went from dire to hopeful, as Sung Jinwoo unleashed his Shadow Army on the mutated ants. While Min Byunggyu was sadly well beyond saving, Sung Jinwoo was able to at least nurse the rest of the strike team back to health using potions he bought from the System. That is, everyone but Cha Haein.
No matter how many potions he gave her, Sung Jinwoo was unable to heal Haein’s grave injuries. In an act of desperation, Jinwoo even attempted to use the Elixir of Life to no avail. As tragic as the scene looked, things escalated quickly when the Ant King arrived, seeking the “King of Humans”. While Jinwoo never claimed to be “king”, his aura of magic power seemed to tell the Ant King otherwise, and the first punch was thrown before anyone could see it coming.
Maybe it's because my perception ability has gotten so high... but I can sense his feelings - his anxiety. Well, that makes two of us. I need to end this as soon as I can!

Solo Leveling’s anime has made cuts from the manhwa that haven’t always worked, but Episode 24’s fight between Jinwoo and the Ant King is different.

Although Jinwoo’s back and forth, punch-for-punch stand-off with the Ant King didn’t seem to yield a clear victor at first, that all changed when Jinwoo was able to put a crack in the Ant King’s exoskeleton. This was an unimaginable feat of strength which the Ant King didn’t take lightly. The Ant King employed all his strongest abilities, including the Ice Magic he learned from devouring Japanese S Rank Hunter Kei using his Gluttony skill, and even the Healing Magic he learned from devouring Min Byunggyu. Yet, despite the Ant King’s greatest efforts, he was still no match for Sung Jinwoo’s full power. The true fight for Jinwoo was against time, as every moment he spent fighting the Ant King meant another precious moment lost of Cha Haein’s life.
After a battle that continued for far too long, Sung Jinwoo finally dealt the killing blow upon the Ant King using his newly acquired Mutilation skill. The true villain of Jeju Island was finally beaten, but Sung Jinwoo didn’t have any time to celebrate or admire the loot he received from his fallen enemies. After all, the Ant King may be dead, but he still led a force of thousands of mutated ants which remained. Left unchecked, these ants could cause untold destruction. Not only that, but Cha Haein’s situation was all but hopeless. After assessing his options and realizing he had no other choice, Sung Jinwoo resolved to make the hard decision as Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 12, ended with yet another characteristically hard-to-swallow cliffhanger.
Sung Jinwoo Will Raise The Series’ Most Popular Shadow Soldier in Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 13
Solo Leveling Episode 25 is Expected to Adapt Manhwa Chapters 104–110

Sung Jinwoo’s fight with the Ant King may have come to its climactic conclusion, but Jinwoo’s fight is far from over. In Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 13, “On to the Next Target”, Sung Jinwoo will have to fight for Cha Haein’s life in the only way he knows how: using the powers of the Shadow Monarch. Ordinarily throughout Season 2, the Solo Leveling anime’s official website has released exciting preview images hinting at what’s to come, but this is the most sparse week yet. The only preview image released was a shot of Sung Jinwoo staring longingly into the distance.
Considering how far Jinwoo has come by the end of Season 2, there is a sense of pride and accomplishment in this image, as though he is reflecting on how much he has already done. On the other hand, there is also a sense of melancholy present, as though he is distinctly aware of all the difficulties he had to face and the troubling things he had to do to get there. Above all, the mystery of the System still persists in the background, setting a troubling precedent. Importantly, the anime likely felt that including any more images would likely lead to major spoilers at this important turning point for Jinwoo, so perhaps this minimal image worked best. While the single image definitely sends mixed signals, the official Solo Leveling anime website does still include a description of the upcoming episode that reveals a strong clue of what’s to come.
The last hope, the 'Elixir of Life,' was ineffective, and Hae-in was in a state of emergency. To help her, Jinwoo came up with an idea. Despite the many sacrifices, the Fourth Jeju Island Raid ended with the hunters' victory. Having demonstrated his power both at home and abroad, Jinwoo throws himself into a new battle in search of even greater strength.

With the Jeju Island Raid reaching its climax, Sung Jinwoo’s best Shadow Soldiers in Solo Leveling is also on the verge of his introduction.

As the anime’s official description suggests, Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 13 will bring the Jeju Island Raid to its official close, with Jinwoo coming up with “an idea” to rescue Haein. Considering the next sentence’s references to the “sacrifices” made, there’s a strong indication of what’s to come. Sung Jinwoo specializes in turning sacrifices into Shadow Soldiers, so Cha Haein’s true savior may be even closer than her fellow strike team party members may be comfortable with.
Whatever his method, Jinwoo will ultimately step away from the Jeju Island Raid victorious. As the new savior of his country and having just hit Level 100 in the System, Jinwoo will have officially put his major struggles behind him as of the end of Season 2, Episode 13. However, just as he’s shown doing in the official preview image, Sung Jinwoo will also begin looking ahead to the future. There are still plenty of new levels left for Sung Jinwoo and Solo Leveling to reach.
Solo Leveling Season 2 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
